Bubbly’s Bubble Tea will expand its menu and reopen in a new location in Norwalk

A local businessman brings oriental flavors to a new location in Norwalk.

Bubbly’s Bubble Tea is a flavored iced tea loaded with sweet balls of fruit or tapioca flavor.

When Bubbly’s Bubble Tea first introduced the concept to SoNo in 2018, co-owner Sabbir Hossain said demand was hard to keep up with.

“We were running out of ice in the middle of the day, just because of the demand in a short time,” Hossain said.

That was before the pandemic led to a slump in sales that forced the store to abandon its lease three years earlier.

“Our clients have even tried to help us by creating a GoFundMe page to try to keep us open,” Hossain said.

Hossain says the two-year break may have been a blessing in disguise. Bubbly’s is now set to reopen in a busy Wall Street location.

“So the new space has a lot more seating, we can probably accommodate around 20 people compared to the six we had before,” Hossain said.

Owners say the new shop will offer more options for foodies.

“We’re expanding our menu. We’re going to have dessert pancakes, mochi ice cream, bubble tea, of course,” Hossain said.

Instant ramen will also be sold, one of the only places in the area to include on its menu.

Hossain says one of the best things about a melting pot is the range of great flavors you can try.

“Being in America, we’re so used to having the same things over and over again, and once you try different foods,” he said. “The different flavors are good to try.”
