The Florida Strawberry Festival announces its theme for 2023

The Florida Strawberry Festival recently announced the theme for its 88th annual event, “We’ve Got a Winner.”

“Yeah, that underscores our recent victory in naming strawberry shortcake Florida’s official dessert because we’re a bit of a fan of the berry,” President Paul Davis said. “We are excited about this year’s event and can’t wait to share in the celebration of the shortbread dessert that made us so successful!”

A new theme is created for each year’s festival to give customers a taste of their experience at the event. The 2023 Florida Strawberry Festival will take place March 2-12 at the Plant City Fairgrounds.

Angel Foundation FL Announces New Board Appointments

The Angel Foundation FL Board of Directors has appointed the following individuals to its Board of Directors: Debbi Figlewski, Realtor at YellowFin Realty, has been named Chair; Dr. Leonard Mardis, owner of Leonard’s Academy of Dance & Center for the Art, was named vice president. Gary Searls, chief financial officer of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, will continue as treasurer; and Julie Dahl, owner of Riverview Mortgage, will continue as secretary.

Also named to the board are Tina Blount, community pastor of ARISE Church; Lisa Wheeler, senior home loan specialist at Churchill Mortgage; and Pete Wheeler, senior vice president of marketing at Chadwell Supply. Ericka White, pastor of Revive Church Global, who has successfully served as president of the foundation since 2020, has been appointed to its advisory board.
