Shaking up fun cocktails and mocktails will do wonders for your reputation as a hostess with the most est. Get ready to impress your friends with your bar skills and start the party with these easy drink recipes from Chef Viraf Patel, COO, Independence Brewing Co.

Cocktails
Blackberry Sour
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Serves: 1

Cocktails

Ingredients
45 ml of whiskey
1 egg white
15 ml mashed blackberries
5 ml lime juice
10 ml Triple sec
5 ml of Bitter
Ice cubes

Method
1. Place all the ingredients in the shaker. Give it a dry shake
2. Add a few ice cubes and shake again.
3. Serve in an Old Fashioned glass.

Lychee & Lemongrass Cooler
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Serves: 1

Lychee & Lemongrass Cooler

Ingredients
60 ml lychee juice
1 lemongrass root
4-6 mint leaves
45 ml of vodka
30 ml of cold brewed tea
Ice cubes
1 sprig of mint for garnish

Method
1. Crush the lemongrass root and crush the mint leaves in the shaker.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the shaker, shake well on ice and serve in a Tom Collins glass. Garnish with spring mint.
3. To make cold brew tea, soak a tea bag or loose leaf of your choice in water for about eight to 10 hours in the refrigerator.

Pomegranate and Grapefruit Martini
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Serves: 1

Pomegranate and Grapefruit Martini

Ingredients
4 to 6 fresh mint leaves
20 ml grapefruit syrup
15 to 20 arils of pomegranate
30 ml of pomegranate juice
10 ml of ginger and jaggery syrup
45 ml of gin
Ice cubes

Method
1. Shake all the ingredients well in a shaker.
2. Serve in a pre-chilled martini glass.
3. To prepare the ginger and jaggery syrup, boil one teaspoon of grated ginger with two to three teaspoons of grated jaggery in half a cup of water.

Alcohol-free cocktails
Orange & Almond Cooler
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Serves: 1

Strawberry Raspberry Iced Tea

Ingredients
60 ml orange juice
45 ml pineapple juice
15 ml of barley syrup (sweet almond syrup)
10 ml lime juice
45ml cold brew tea
Ice cubes
A pinch of grated nutmeg for decoration

Method
1. Place all the ingredients except the nutmeg and ice cubes in a shaker. Shake well.
2. In a Tom Collins glass, place a few ice cubes and pour the shaken drink.
3. Garnish with grated nutmeg and serve chilled.

Strawberry Raspberry Iced Tea
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Serves: 1

Alcohol-free cocktails

Ingredients
15 ml strawberry puree
15 ml raspberry puree
45ml cold brew tea
60 ml apple juice
10 ml lime juice
Ice cubes

Method
1. Shake all the ingredients except the ice cubes in a cocktail shaker.
2. Place the ice cubes in a Tom Collins glass and pour the drink over it.
3. Serve chilled.
