While there are many tasty toppings for white chocolate bark, my favorites are green pistachios and bright red cranberries.

These festive colors make it ideal for the holiday season.

That said, white chocolate is the perfect blank canvas for all sorts of delicious extras.

So try mini chocolate chips, nuggets, crushed pretzels, chopped nuts or dried fruit – the sky’s the limit!

No matter the reason or the season, you’ll love this versatile white chocolate bark.

Easy white chocolate bark recipe

The next time you need a super quick and easy holiday treat, you have to try this white chocolate bark recipe.

It’s deliciously sweet and creamy with lots of crunchy, nutty goodness. And the chewy dried cranberries are a great contrast.

The pistachios have a fairly mild flavor, but the green hue really pops against the white background.

Of course, you can use any nuts you like, such as walnuts or pecans.

Likewise, dried cranberries look amazing scattered over white chocolate. But go ahead and use blueberries or raisins if you prefer.

To prevent this dessert from being too sweet, you will only add a hint of nutmeg. It brings a nice dose of spice but is not overwhelming.

As mentioned, you can easily modify this recipe – we’ll get to that in the next section.

But if you like the holiday theme, here’s what you’ll need:

  • White chocolate – As this is the whole base of this recipe, you will need premium quality chocolate. Sure, there are great white chocolate fondants and wafers out there, but the flavor isn’t nearly as rich and creamy. It’s time to splurge!
  • Pistachios – Pistachios are quite sweet, so the flavor won’t overpower everything else (like peanuts might). Just be sure to get it unsalted and unflavored.
  • Dried cranberries – Moist, sweet and tart, dried cranberries add a fruity flavor to keep that rind from being too rich. And you can’t beat this color!
  • Nutmeg – Spicy and warm, the nutmeg will add a nice nuance. Feel free to leave it out, but I think you’ll enjoy it.

Topping Ideas + Variations

One of my favorite things about this bark is all the versatility it offers. In fact, this recipe can easily be customized for any occasion.

Whether it’s a holiday party, birthday, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, or just for fun, there’s a topping combo for you!

  • Candy – For a deliciously sweet chocolate bark, try chopping chocolate bars or adding M&Ms. I suggest finding something with caramel and salt (like Snickers) to keep it from being too sweet.
  • peppermint bark – Crushed candy canes sprinkled over white chocolate are the ultimate party treat. Add a layer of dark chocolate under the white for a more traditional peppermint bark creation.
  • Dried fruit – Swap cranberries for other dried fruits. Try raisins, dried cherries, pineapple or apricots. You can change this recipe for any season with your choice of fruit.
  • Roasted nuts – Instead of pistachios, try almonds, walnuts, peanuts or cashews. Most nuts go well with all sorts of other ingredients. Remember to go unsalted – unless you like a lot of salt!
  • tropical bark – Make it for your next barbecue, and it will be a hit. You can also break it into shards and use it as a fun cupcake topper. Use dried pineapple and mango with toasted coconut flakes.
  • Trail mix bark – Add M&M’s and pretzels to this recipe for a fun treat. You can also add salted peanuts for that signature sweet and salty flavor.
  • Elvis – Try candied bacon, banana chips and a peanut butter swirl. Once everything is poured into the pan, add spoonfuls of peanut butter and stir it in with a knife or toothpick.

How to Store White Chocolate Bark

Fortunately, white chocolate bark keeps very well. Store it in an airtight container at room temperature and it should last about three weeks.

You can keep it in the refrigerator if it is a bit warm where you live. However, it might develop some condensation and not last as long.

Also, storage time will fluctuate depending on your toppings. For example, if you add something perishable (i.e. candied bacon), it’s best to enjoy it within a week or so.
