Now, Nico Simeone, the chef of the place, is ready to present this month’s new six-course menu inspired by the centuries-old recipes of the ancient Romans, who proved surprisingly inventive with their dishes. He said: “Our teams scoured Roman cookbooks to find a way to recreate dishes for the modern foodie.
“Let’s not forget that the Romans were resourceful and inventive with their produce, with many of their dishes revealing the origins of Italian cuisine.
“Ancient Roman cuisine featured a diverse range of unusual dishes, strange foods and unconventional dining experiences, and we hope our interpretation will allow our guests to enjoy the flavors and tastes of ancient Roman cuisine today. today.”
The new “Ancient Rome” menu will run from Tuesday March 15 to Sunday April 24 and will offer unforgettable combinations. The second course includes, for example, white asparagus, crispy duck eggs, hazelnuts and brown butter. While the fifth course is sure to blow your mind with pork tenderloin belly, turned rib, cured meat, grilled fennel and fennel seeds, date and apple compote, braised fennel.
And, of course, the dessert, which was considered a restaurant staple in ancient Rome, will have you tasting Honey Parfait, Ricotta Mousse, Candied Quince, Sparkling Muscat Grape, Pear and Citrus, Honey Tuile. That might sound overly fulfilling for a desert alone, but there’s a reason the Romans referred to the sweet treat at the end of the feast as “mensa secunda” or “second meal.”
This top-notch dining experience is definitely not one that leaves its guests half-starved and is reasonably priced at £32 per person with the option of complementing expertly selected drinks for an additional £27. And a vegetarian option is available for each dish on the menu.
As there is just over a week left until the “Ancient Rome” menu is served in the Six by Nico rooms, you have the option of booking for a current Disney-themed menu that will remind you of some of the company’s most popular productions.
