NEW YORK – Frozen dessert brand Enlightened is launching a collection of ready-to-bake sugar-free cookies.
Each cookie has no added sugar and two grams of net carbs. Varieties include Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunks, and Double Chocolate.
“There’s nothing better than a hot, gooey cookie straight out of the oven,” said Michael Shoretz, founder and CEO of parent company Enlightened Beyond Better Foods. “Until now, we’ve had to make the decision to have a cookie loaded with sugar or compromise on taste and texture for a ‘healthier’ alternative. With these cookies there is no compromise. They are soft and chewy, taste amazing, and contain no added sugar.
The cookies are formulated with low-calorie rare sugar allulose and HealthSense High Fiber Wheat Flour from Bay State Milling Co., which contains up to 10 times the amount of dietary fiber of traditional wheat flour. , according to the company. HealthSense Flour is also found in Enlightened Sugar Free Ice Cream Cones which debuted earlier this year.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Enlightened team to help create deliciously better cookies for you with the inclusion of HealthSense High Fiber Flour,” said Edward Fish, Vice -President and CEO of Varietal. Solutions, Bay State Milling Co. “HealthSense helps meet consumers’ desire for foods with real health benefits while maintaining the same great taste they enjoy from Enlightened products. “
The addition of ready-to-bake cookies marks the brand’s continued expansion beyond ice cream. Over the past two years, the company has added frozen fruit bars, cheesecakes, and low-carb, low-sugar cookie and brownie dough bites.
Enlightened Ready-to-Bake Cookies are available online at eatenlightened.com and will be rolling out this year to select grocery stores, including Sprouts Farmers Market, Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods. A box of 12 cookies sells for between $ 8 and $ 10.
