Sioux Falls Taco Walk is delighted to offer its first outing of the season on Cinco de Mayo. The ride will start at 6:00 p.m. from the back patio at Remedy Brewing Co. “We’ll ride the bike path and some city streets and then meet back where we started for a few tacos.” The other dates this year are July 7 and September 15. on the group’s Facebook page.
Salas Salsas Still working to get his new food truck ready, but he’s hosting a pop-up torta shop for Open House this weekend at Oakridge Nursery & Landscaping in Brandon. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Choose from al pastor, chicken in a guajillo salsa, or house-marinated vegan soy chorizo. The tortas will be served on an artisanal sourdough bolillo.
John’s Tacos celebrates Cinco de Mayo with Cinco Week. Get five softshell tacos for $5.55 Sunday through Thursday. To get the offer, customers must be enrolled in the loyalty program through the app.
Prairie C Dessert Bar has a special menu for Mother’s Day, and he’s taking orders until Tuesday noon. The “MOM” honey and cream cookie cake filled with white chocolate decorated with fruit, chocolate and Bella Rosa flowers. The Hydrangea Bouquet features the classic vanilla dessert bar cupcakes with vanilla frosting and is available in large or small sizes. There are also chocolate-covered Oreos that look like daisies, a bouquet of sugar cookies, and Mother’s Day “hat” cookies that are filled with candy. Squealer’s Smoke Shack is open again on Mondays and there are new menu items. For starters, there’s spinach and artichoke dip served with fries and sliced pita, Boom Boom shrimp, and quesadillas with a choice of meat. Entree choices include Quesadilla Bang Salad, BBLT with Brisket, Loaded Grilled Cheese with Brisket, Breaded Chicken Sandwich, and Shrimp Po’ Boy. New flatbreads include Chicken Alfredo and Bacon Cheeseburger.
Crack’d Pot Restaurant & Bakery beefed up its burgers. The North Minnesota Avenue restaurant increased the size of the patties from a third of a pound to a half pound. They’re available every day, but on Tuesdays, buy one, get one free from 5 p.m. until closing.
Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Cooking is hosting a special bottomless brunch on Saturday. The Vibes N’ Brunch buffet includes a meat carving station and brunch bar with breakfast items and Southern classics such as chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs, and pancakes. There will also be a dessert bar with Swamp Daddy’s flapjack cake as the centerpiece. Tickets, which cost $30, include bottomless glasses of prosecco, and diners can pay extra for bottomless mimosas. glacial lakes added a pina colada flight to its Sunday-only flight offerings, which include Bloody Marys and mimosas. Offerings include grilled banana, raspberry, mango and blueberry hibiscus. Sunday hours are from noon to 8 p.m.
Looking for an alcohol-free flight? Zooks Coffee Bar in Tea launched one with 8oz coffee and Buzzed drinks. Choose four hot or iced drinks — unmixed — for $20. They are so popular that customers have to make reservations.
panera bread expanded its coffee subscription program to include all beverages in its line. The new Unlimited Sip Club will cost $11 per month instead of $9. Members receive coffee, hot tea, iced green tea, soft drinks, juices, lemonades, and other beverages like the new caffeinated lemonade chargers, which come in different flavors. The only limit is one drink every two hours. Register before May 6 and get the subscription for free until July 4.
Lasagna Fest has started Fazoli’s with two special offers. Double Stack Cheese Lasagna has 18 layers and weighs 1.3 pounds. Lasagna noodles are topped with ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, meat sauce and alfredo sauce. The triple meat lasagna contains meat sauce, slices of Italian sausage and bacon. They are on the menu until June 26th.
‘Cause who knows when it’s gonna get hot big shots hosts its Beaches & Bays party on Friday night to provide an escape. Schedule changes, service
Humble Hill Vineyard reopens for the season. The tasting room will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. from Friday to Sunday. The small winery is at 25219 485th Ave., which is along Highway 11 just north of Garretson.
Fred’s Franks begins its season next week. The hot dog cart will be back in the parking lot outside the Kingbird Coffee Shop in Brandon, starting Tuesday. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. Check for updates on the Fred’s Franks Facebook page.
Diving in The Gaslight Lounge has expanded its hours, adding lunch from Tuesday to Thursday. The new hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Dive took over the kitchen from the West 12th Street bar earlier this year.
