Every year McDonald’s releases a party menu and this year was no exception.
This year, the menu features some old favorites as well as some new additions. However, one thing that struck me was how small the selection was.
For McDonald’s fans, old favorites will include the Cheese Melt Dippers, which consist of camembert wrapped in fried breadcrumbs.

New on the menu this year are the Festive Stack and the Festive Crispy Chicken.
As for desserts, the Celebrations McFlurry and the Festive Pie are offered.
I ordered the entire Christmas menu from the Farnborough branch to try and review.
This was my first time trying the McDonald’s Christmas menu and wasn’t sure what to expect, having heard mixed opinions from programming in previous years.
The first was the Festive Stack, consisting of two beef patties with red onion relish, cottage cheese sauce, bacon, crispy onions, red onion, lettuce and cheddar cheese and in between Brioche hamburger buns.

Although I enjoyed it, there was nothing about it that was particularly Christmas for me. If anything, I was a little disappointed as it was pretty much a regular burger, although it was slightly fancier than the regular McDonald’s menu.
But when I tried the Festive Crispy Chicken, I understood why it deserved to be on the Christmas menu.
The burger has a crispy coating, cranberry sauce, sage and onion mayo, bacon, red onion, lettuce and a cheddar seed bun.
Anyway, it was basically a Christmas dinner in a burger. If I had to recommend one of the burgers, it would definitely be the Festive Crispy Chicken.
Then there was the Cheese Melt Dippers, which I actually had the year before. However, this time the cheese seemed to be even smoother and more gooey than before.
If you’re a cheese lover, these could be your new favorite McDonald’s item. They were for me and even beat the stiff competition from McDonald’s Mozzarella Dippers.
For desserts, the Festive Pie was a slightly unusual mix of minced meat and custard.
While I liked the pie and its individual ingredients, I felt there was a bit too much going on overall and I don’t think I’m going to be rushing to try it again.
Celebrations McFlurry is a must-have for any ice cream lover – chocolate toppings being a holiday highlight.
Overall, McDonald’s festive menu certainly has its moments, but its limited selection lets it down.
