Japanese CG says “Karachi is a lively and peaceful city” – Pakistan

KARACHI: Karachi is emerging as a bustling city where many cultural and social events take place regularly. The city is among the most peaceful cities in the world.

These views were expressed by Japanese Consul General Toshikazu Isomura at the grand opening of a newly renovated restaurant, Killay, at a local hotel, according to a statement on Sunday.

The Japanese envoy said foreign diplomats stationed in Karachi find it a relaxing and lively city, as many social gatherings and cultural events are held there regularly. Isomura said he is working to improve people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Japan, in addition to facilitating economic and business activities.

He added that Killay would provide people with another place of recreation. He said he liked the biryani and the local mutton dishes.

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Mohammed Atiqur Rahman said Pakistan and Bangladesh are brotherly countries with common values ​​and history. He said relations between the two countries will reach new levels over time. He added that he liked Killay’s cooking.

Acting Turkish Consul General Uzay Ozturk was also present, in addition to diplomatic staff from Russian and Indonesian consulates. Renowned dental surgeon Dr Mohammed Altamash has said on occasion that the quality of the food served in the hotel is second to none, and the more than 25 dishes on offer at Killay Restaurant provide guests with a wide choice.

Actress Bin Chaudhri said the desserts on offer at Killay Restaurant are second to none. Mehran Hotel General Manager Rehan Peerzada said the hotel provides total comfort to its guests. He said renovating the Killay restaurant and improving its buffet was part of their modernization efforts. He said the hotel is a must-see on people’s social calendars.

Sales manager Yasir Ahmed said the hotel ensures that the quality of the food served in its restaurants is prepared under strict conditions. He added that this is why the hotel is popular among diplomats and locals in Karachi.
