Local restaurant celebrates five years in business


SARATOGA SPRINGS – Once a 1950s Fodero dining car, Dunning Street Station, a restaurant on Route 9 in Malta, is now an established local eatery with a celebratory motif. The restaurant’s uniquely designed stainless steel art deco interior has shone with charm for five consecutive years, and the restaurant is offering a $20.22 three-course menu throughout January to kick off its anniversary year.

Dunning Street owners Scott Ringwood and Bob Mckenna have left their mark on the Saratoga area. Scott and Bob are co-owners of Lake Ridge Restaurant in historic Round Lake, a business they have operated for 20 years. Scott and Bob began the Dunning Street adventure in 2016 looking for a casual, cozy restaurant that offered a different feel to the fine dining experience Lake Ridge Restaurant is known for.

After restoring the restaurant building, the owner’s choice of the name “Dunning Street Station” was reflected in the name of the original street where the restaurant was located, and “Meet at the Station!” became the appropriate catchphrase that followed.

Scott Ringwood, Co-Owner of Dunning Street Station, said, “We are thrilled to introduce the creative menu items of our very talented Chef Bruce Jacobson to Dunning Street Station, where we offer a variety of American food choices with an Italian twist.

Bob Mckenna, second co-owner of Dunning Street Station, added, “We continue to hear customers comment on how surprised they are to find the award-winning dining experience they have, within our stainless steel exterior. Excellent cuisine, customer-focused servers, a 14-seat bar and three comfortable dining rooms make Dunning Street Station a unique place to eat. We love being the neighborhood restaurant/bar serving Saratoga and the surrounding communities.

To commemorate five years of service to the community, Dunning Street is offering a three-course menu throughout January featuring a choice of entrée, entree and dessert, all for $20.22. Customers can choose from a garden-fresh house salad, warm brie with apricot glaze, or one of their award-winning soups for their entree. For the main course, Dunning Street offers a Mahi Mahi with mango salsa served with wild rice and vegetables, or a Whiskey Flank Steak Flambé served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. For pasta lovers, one option is the classic three-layer lasagna with beef, or the classic chicken marsala with an organic marsala and mushroom sauce served over pasta. To top off the meal, there are two exceptional choices for dessert, including carrot cake and a dish of the day. All items are available for take out as well as on site.
