KANSAS CITY — Decadent desserts are making their debut at national restaurant chains.
At Baskin-Robbins, the candy bar-inspired flavor of the month, Totally Unwrapped, features layers of fudge-covered pretzels, fudge-and-caramel covered peanuts, and caramel swirled in peanut butter and chocolate frosting.
Frozen yogurt chain Pinkberry has unveiled a new strawberry shortcake flavor for a limited time. New Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Shake from Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews combines a vanilla soft serve with pineapple juice and cake flavor, topped with whipped cream, pineapple, caramel and a cherry.
Sonic Drive-In serves brownie batter and yellow cake batter, made with vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped topping and a cherry.
“In developing the Brownie Batter and Yellow Cake Batter shakes, our culinary team worked to recreate those fond childhood memories of baking at home and that time when you got to sneak a taste of the mixing bowl,” Scott said.
