StarMed Healthcare and Charlotte Black Business Owners Host Juneteenth Buy-Black Fest
CHARLOTTE — StarMed Healthcare partnered with the Black Business Owners of Charlotte (BBOC) on Sunday to host a Juneteenth Buy-Black Fest in West Charlotte.
The family festival included several food trucks, retailers, desserts, music and even a fun zone for children.
The event is designed to generate revenue for black-owned businesses.
BBOC was founded in 2014 to give current and future business owners the resources they need to succeed and be able to elevate the community.
StarMed CEO Jim Estramonte said he was delighted to partner with BBOC for the event.
“Our organization is honored to give back to the community we serve. BBOC helps strengthen local Black-owned businesses and has been instrumental in raising awareness and the economic impact these events generate,” Estramonte said.
BBOC has hosted over 100 major events and generates approximately $9 million annually for Black-owned businesses in the community.
“BBOC has embraced a model that has had a lasting economic impact – listening to the needs of Black-owned businesses and our community, partnering with local stakeholders like StarMed Healthcare, and serving by creating programs, events and community-driven initiatives,” said Cathay Dawkins, Founder and Executive Director of BBOC.
