The Blackbird Inn offers its seasonal menu, with the award-winning property offering pub classics and seasonal dishes

The award-winning Blackbird Inn has launched its new seasonal menu to celebrate the arrival of summer.

The Ponteland-based pub, which won Pub of the Year at the North East England Tourism Awards earlier this year, has unveiled its new menu.

A summer menu focusing on seasonal favorites such as raspberries, strawberries, bok choi, arugula, cilantro, red onion and an array of local herbs is on the menu.

The revisited menu also offers a variety of lighter dishes with duck terrine and pistachios, asparagus and eggs as well as smoked haddock croquettes.

But pub classics are still available, with a Caijun chicken burger, Blackbird beef burger, beer-battered North Sea cod and pie of the day remaining on the menu.

New offerings of Asian Crispy Beef Salad, Potato Slab and Golden Beets are also offered at the award-winning establishment.

Desserts are also available with a selection of strawberry cake ice cream, vegan ice cream and fruit salad.

Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan dinners are all catered for with a wide selection of dishes.

Stuart Young of the Northumberland Pub Company, which operates the Blackbird Inn, said: “It’s great to shake things up and we like to change our menu to reflect the changing seasons.

“There will of course be some old favorites so people won’t miss them, but even better there is now a hint of excitement amongst diners as they try tastes they may not have had before. not be met before.”
