A popular and traditionally rich restaurant in northern Connecticut seeks to provide its patrons with “home-cooked” meals through its seasonal menu.
Stone Row Kitchen + Bar is a Windham County staple located at 948 Main Street in Willimantic.
The restaurant opened in 2009 and was previously called Cafémantic, before relaunching as Stone Row in 2020.
The owners said the restaurant has become a cornerstone of the community “both as a gathering place for the neighborhood and as a showcase for the area’s farmers, gatherers and fishermen.”
Stone Row’s menu includes main courses such as its grass-fed burger, pan-seared sea bass, and pappardelle pasta made with zucchini, tomato butter and roasted squash.
Some online reviewers have praised the restaurant’s cocktail menu, which features drinks such as a smoked watermelon daiquiri, sour peach vodka, and a Manhattan chocolate cherry.
“I’ve been here a few times recently and my wife and I are huge fans,” wrote Walter C., of Hartford, in a review on Bark. “The menu is very varied and we both found several applications and small plates that we were big fans of despite almost opposing tastes. The cocktail menu is quite intriguing and the Oaxacan Old Fashioned currently on the menu is absurdly good.”
The dessert menu includes churro donuts, s’mores made with chocolate ice cream and crème brûlée, as well as a variety of dessert cocktails.
Stone Row is open Wednesday through Sunday. Find out more about restaurant hours and menu offerings here.
