As the cost of living continues to rise, that means many people are starting to feel the pinch, but the TV chief, Tom Kerridge announced that starting today, diners can enjoy affordable two-course menu at £15. Available in all of its UK restaurants, including its Manchester branch The bull and the bearthe two-course menu costs £9.50 less than the usual restaurant set menu, and it is possible to opt for a third course (starter or dessert) for an additional £7.50.
Having been voted one of the best places for a Sunday roast in the country, The Bull & Bear will continue to serve hearty pub fare and plenty of comfort food. Diners can expect to find tastes of shepherd’s pie, lasagna, sausage and mash on the menu, alongside traditional desserts including speckled cock, roly poly jam and crumble and custard.
From this week, the £15 two-course menu will be available on Thursday and Friday noon at the Hôtel de la Bourse restaurant, from September 8 to 30, and it will change every week. On the menu for the Bull and Bear bargain this week will be roasted tomato soup with basil pesto and focaccia; homemade roast beef and onion pie; and creme caramel.

The chef-patron, who holds three Michelin stars, said: “The aim is to bring excitement and buzz back to restaurants without customers being afraid of spending too much money. A taste of the good times at a fraction of the price. Please come join us, and above all, make a reservation in London, Manchester or Marlow.”
It’s not the first time Tom Kerridge has offered a reasonably priced menu as the chef launched a similar initiative during the 2008 financial crisis when “people were very worried about the money in their pockets”. The chef said he launched a one-choice lunch menu ‘which did absolutely nothing but filled the pub with noise, excitement and laughter’.
The £15 ‘Back To Work’ menu is available at all Tom Kerridge restaurants, including The Bull and Bear in Manchester, Kerridge’s Bar and Grill in London and The Coach in Marlow from September 5. Reservations are recommended so book your table at the Bull and Bear here.
