University of Alaska Anchorage: TODAY: Join us for the launch of the CBPP Business Plan Competition

November 19, 2021

What is the recipe for preparing a perfect business plan? In addition to the essential ingredients,
it takes time and practice. UAA Students, Community Members and Tom Case Leadership
Fellows Academy scholars can obtain this practice during 2022 College of Business
and Business Plan for Public Policy Competition (PPCB). This is the opportunity to tinker
a business plan as an individual or as a team and get input and inspiration from the judges
and experienced entrepreneurs.

The CBPP Business Plan Competition consists of a series of events between November
2021 and April 2022. The the first event is launched online on Friday November 19, 2021 at 5.30 p.m. Entrants will find out about the categories, dates, guidelines and prizes of the competition.
They will meet with the judges and hear from James Strong, a 2006 CBPP graduate. Strong
owns Sweet Caribou, which just celebrated five years of treating Anchorage to the artisan
macaroons, bowls and gourmet desserts. He will share his entrepreneurial experience,
including how Sweet Caribou weathered the pandemic. Participants will have the chance
to win door prizes, including Sweet Caribou macaroons.
