Arms of Eccleston
Popular bar and grill The Eccleston Arms has a special Valentine’s menu to delight romantics in St Helens.
Three courses cost £40 and include smoked ham croquettes, Chinese spiced duck, braised beef and a chocolate surprise.
Rooms are also available for those wishing to stay overnight in the Prescot Road building.
Ariete Italian Bar and Restaurant
Italian restaurant Ariete is offering a new two-course fixed menu for Valentine’s Day.
As well as their usual a la carte menu, the set menu costs £24.95 per person.
This includes sweet potato, garlic and roasted red pepper soup, mixed seafood and fresh spaghetti.
Ariete is located on the High Street in Newton-le-Willows.
The Wood Pit cafe and bistro
Wood Pit is offering a special Valentine’s Day menu tonight at its Church Road restaurant.
Three courses and a glass of prosecco will cost £55 per couple, with the option to upgrade to a bottle of prosecco or wine for an additional ten pounds.
Their menu includes a prawn and calamari starter, roast marinated leg of lamb and a main course of black pudding and a platter to share for dessert.
The Wicket Bar & Grub
Live entertainment will be on offer for romantics dining at The Wicket tonight.
Local musician Olivia Parr will sing for guests who can enjoy selections from the restaurant’s three-course menu for two and a bottle of house wine.
The set menu costs £55 per couple, which includes all the traditional dishes from Ruskin Sports Village Bar.
Bottle and Glass Inn
A set menu is also offered by the Bottle & Glass team in Rainford.
The Valentine’s menu costs £21.99 and includes platters to share, hand-breaded cod and chips, chicken, leek and mushroom pie and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
If having a quiet place is more your thing, locals in St Helens have encouraged couples to shop at independent businesses for artisan cakes, stroll through Taylor Park or cook a special home-cooked meal.
